    Abstract

Thebasic problem is tomaximize economicdevelopment in aproductivejob creation is sustainable.Inan effort to placeof employment provision as a starting pointin attemptinghumansIndonesia became themain forceof development. In Indonesia, therateofpopulation growth is not matched with the equitable distribution and lack of labor market. Problem of expansion of employment opportunities isoneof themain problems oftoday, but basicallythereis a wayto expand employment opportunity, namely through the developmentof labor-intensive industries (LaborIntensive)which absorbs relativelymorelaborin their production process. Relation to the economy, small industries, especiallyindustrial ofTapis can improvethe economy, especiallydeveloping countries likeIndonesia, which hasaworkforce that quitealot. This studyaims to determinethe effect of variableunits of production andreal wages to laborabsorption in the industrial of Tapis in BandarLampungperiod 2004.1 -2008.4. The analytical method used is ordinaryleast square, followed by hypothesis testing and simultaneous partiallythrough t test and f. Theresults in the period 2004 - 2008 byData quarter we concluded that, based on the calculations and discussion, conclusions that canbegiven bythe authors is that the results of calculations and statistical testsas awhole (Ftest) at thelevelof confidenceof 95percent,indicatingthat the valueofR ²=0.763820 whichmeans that the variable unit of production and real wages haveareal impact for 76.3820 percent of industrial labor absorption of Tapis inBandarLampung.Whilethe remaining23.618 percent is influenced byotherfactors beyond the model of this research. Meanwhile, accordingto ttest independent variables that turned out production units havepositive and real wagevariables negativelyaffect the employment screeningindustryinBandarLampung.Incalculatingthe independent variable is the elasticityof production units and real wages can be concluded
